The music scene is abuzz as Lip Filler announces their new extended play ‘witchescrew’, slated for release on May 24th via Chess Club Records. The build-up to this launch has fans reeling with excitement, especially with the release of the early single ‘followup’. Infused with themes of impatience and the paranormal, ‘followup’ serves as a powerful testament to progress and a refusal to remain static.

As Lip Filler eloquently puts it, ‘followup is about impatience, the preciousness of time, and our drive to fill every moment productively. This track, with its Frankenstein-esque assembly that felt like a ‘nightmare’, finally aligns with our true sound – an unpredictable blend that feels like an accomplishment.’

Accompanying the single’s release is a thought-provoking video directed by Jude Harrison, with editing by band member George Tucker. The video depicts the singers trapped in isolation, a metaphor for mental entrapment and the distortion of time based on our subjective experiences. Time, in this realm, is non-linear, echoing the memories that shun chronological order and the feeling that some periods extend while others contract based on the intensity of life’s moments. Tucker’s editing prowess and Harrison’s directional vision coalesce to illustrate these complex themes vividly.

To experience Lip Filler’s innovative soundscapes live, fans can catch them at A Stone’s Throw Festival in Newcastle on May 25th, followed by headlining dates across London, Bristol, and Manchester in June.
