Sheffield’s Utilita Arena was a beacon of musical excellence as the MOBO Awards returned to the spotlight. Celebrating 26 years of Black British talent, the night was an exhilarating showcase of the industry’s finest.

For 26 years, the MOBO Awards have celebrated the best of Black British talent, giving out early gongs to future superstars like Stormzy and Dave while honouring the acts who’ve impacted British culture over time. 2024’s ceremony, held for the first time at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, does what the MOBOs do best, boasting performances from Lifetime Achievement Award winners Soul II Soul, to upcoming rapper Cristale, and global talents Byron Messia and King Promise.

  • Best Grime Act: Bugzy Malone
  • Best Dance/Electronic Act: Shygirl
  • Best Alternative Act: Skindred, presented by Nova Twins

Aluna highlighted the significance of the Best Dance/Electronic category, hoping other award ceremonies will follow suit. The MOBO Awards honoured Sugababes with the Impact Award, reflecting on their influence on British pop music. Ghetts received the Pioneer Award, celebrating his contributions to grime music.
