Celebrating Two Decades of Hard-Fi’s ‘Stars of CCTV’

Hard-Fi have officially confirmed a 20th anniversary reissue of their debut album, ‘Stars of CCTV’. This celebratory release will feature previously unheard material, giving fans a sweet trip down memory lane.
The British four-piece is set to unveil a limited edition yellow gatefold 2-LP vinyl and 2-CD package on 4th July. This marks two decades since the launch of their influential record.
The upcoming collection isn’t just a rehash of the past; it includes unreleased demos of fan favorites like ‘Hard To Beat,’ ‘Move On Now,’ and ‘Gotta Reason’, alongside B-sides, live versions, and remixes. It’s the perfect blend of history and fresh content that no true Hard-Fi fan will want to miss!
“We were skint, recording in a freezing old minicab office, but we knew we had something raw and real,” reflects frontman Richard Archer. “‘Stars’ was our life – watching mates struggle in dead-end jobs, police mobile surveillance vans parked up watching our every move, but still finding the thrill in a night out, music, street culture, and celebrating a lifestyle familiar to anyone stuck on the outskirts, in satellite towns up and down the country.”
The original album was previously only available as a limited vinyl run, making this new pressing an exhilarating opportunity for numerous fans to finally own it on this beloved format.
The excitement doesn’t stop there; Hard-Fi will take to the stage for a series of live performances leading up to the reissue. Here are their upcoming dates:
- MAY: 24 Moto GP, Silverstone, UK
- JUNE: 28 Glastonbury Festival, Avalon Stage, UK
- JULY: 17 Heritage Live, Englefield House, UK
This anniversary reissue of ‘Stars of CCTV’ is not just a release; it’s a celebration of a band that managed to capture the essence of a generation. Get ready for a journey back in time, and make sure to grab your copy when it drops!
