Immerse yourself in the evocative soundscape of One True Pairing’s ‘Endless Rain’. Drenched in raw emotion and set for an October release, this album promises to captivate listeners.

The airwaves are about to be soaked in the melancholic yet tenacious sounds of One True Pairing, as Tom Fleming, the visionary formerly of Wild Beasts, has officially announced his second solo album ‘Endless Rain’, set to release via the iconic Domino label.

Recorded at Hellfire studios in Dublin with venerable producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy, the album is more than just a collection of songs; it’s a reflection of personal catharsis and unyielding determination. ‘It was off the back of a lot of personal difficulties, a loss of income, a loss of house, everything,’ Fleming reflects. He then describes an almost biblical scene of persistent downpour, ‘It rained solidly for about a week’, and the rising waters bringing forth the hidden creatures within.

The album isn’t simply a retelling of hardships, but a showcase of the impromptu genius that often accompanies trying times. ‘I didn’t write anything for ages and then it all happened at once,’ Fleming admits, noting that some of the songs had been years in the making while others came to life in mere minutes.

The album prelude arrives in the form of the electrifying single ‘A Landlord’s Death’, serving up a dose of visceral commentary that’s as unflinching as it is melodically gripping. Fleming pulls no punches, proclaiming, ‘Parasites the fucking lot. No tears shed for the guilty. We’re coming.’ He paints a vivid picture of unchecked desire with the accompanying music video, foreshadowing the consequences of unchecked greed.
