Momma Unleashes New Single ‘Rodeo’ Ahead of Their Upcoming Album

Momma have shared their exhilarating new single ‘Rodeo’, a tantalizing preview of their upcoming album ‘Welcome to My Blue Sky’, set to hit the shelves this Friday, April 4th. The track comes packaged with a vibrant video directed by Richard Phillip Smith, showcasing the band’s unique concept on an ice rink.

Thematically rich, ‘Rodeo’ is woven from the perspective of two individuals left behind in a romantic scenario, with lyrics that honor their experiences. Allegra Weingarten and Etta Friedman, the brilliant songwriters behind this piece, share: “It’s our attempt at honoring their stories by tapping into the feeling of being replaced by someone else.”

The creative concept behind the video, where the band performs on an ice rink while a bull chases a skater, adds a layer of intensity and relatability to the experience. It echoes the sensation of being amidst chaos, much like being in the center of a rodeo, where one finds themselves overwhelmed and unable to keep pace.

Momma have recently made their late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, electrifying the audience with a stunning performance of their previous hit, ‘I Want You (Fever)’. This progressive band, with a penchant for live recordings, has produced their new album with bandmate Aron Kobayashi Ritch, which was recorded authentically live at Studio G in Brooklyn.
