As It Is has just released a fresh twist on their hit track ‘Cheap Shots & Setbacks’, featuring incredible vocals from Mikey Chapman of Mallory Knox and Alex Costello and Alex Adam of ROAM. This exhilarating collaboration is a prelude to their upcoming re-recorded album.

As It Is has shared ‘Cheap Shots & Setbacks X’, a new version of their track featuring guest appearances from Mikey Chapman of Mallory Knox and Alex Costello and Alex Adam of ROAM.

The release comes ahead of ‘Never Happy, Ever After X’, a complete re-recording of their debut album featuring guest appearances across all tracks, set for release on 18th May.

“Cheap Shots & Setbacks is probably one of our few positive anthemic songs. We always thought this would be our biggest single, but alas Dial Tones proved us wrong,” the band shares. “Back in 2014 in the backstage of a club in Bristol, Alex Adam & Alex Costello from ROAM demoed guest vocals on the bridge. It didn’t make the record for whatever reason but ten years later there was only one band we wanted to guest for that bridge part. They’ve done it live with us countless times over the years and all our first big experiences as a band were together with ROAM.”

“In 2015 we also spent the summer with Mallory Knox on the Warped Tour – Mallory has always been UK rock legends to us, and have had a similar journey in many ways to us. To have Mikey also sing on this track really turns this version into a full 2015 party. He blew us away in the studio and we’re so excited for people to hear this song the way it was always meant to be.”

The upcoming album will be filled with exciting collaborations with artists including Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens, Mikaila Delgado of Yours Truly, Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence, and Dave ‘Brownsound’ Baksh of Sum 41. Don’t miss out on this musical tapestry!

Mark your calendars! Here are the confirmed dates for their upcoming shows:

  • MAY 22 – Green Door Store, Brighton, UK
  • MAY 23 – Fighting Cocks, Kingston, UK
  • MAY 24 – Hatfield Park, Hatfield, UK
  • MAY 25 – Temple Newsam, Leeds, UK
