In a world where authenticity often feels out of reach, Kayla Grace emerges with a sound that is refreshingly genuine. Her latest EP, ‘Cats Can Surf’, invites listeners to join her on a candid exploration of self-discovery and emotional honesty.

Kayla Grace boasts an energy that buzzes with anticipation, perfectly suited for an artist on the brink of unveiling her most personal work to date. Now at 22, she has channeled her experiences into her upcoming EP, ‘Cats Can Surf’, a seven-track deep dive into early adulthood filled with heartache, self-discovery, and the complexities in between.

“I’ve just been at rehearsals with the band today,” Kayla shares excitedly. “I can’t wait for my headline show! Hearing the tracks come to life with such talented musicians is unreal!” Her dimly-lit bedroom demos are stepping into the limelight, and audiences are poised to witness the ambitious soundscape she’s crafted.

Long before she hit the studio, her passion for music blossomed. “When I found my grandma’s old guitar in my sister’s room, I knew I wanted to create my own sounds,” she recalls. “I started writing dramatic songs and used music as my emotional outlet.” Her lyrics reflect her introspective nature, delving into the rawness that defines her artistry.

With her debut EP ‘Glass Child’, Kayla carved a niche in the indie-pop scene, merging vulnerability and catchy hooks that resonated deeply with fans. She’s become a voice of a generation craving authenticity in an often superficial industry.

“I’m super stubborn about my music; I take numbers with a pinch of salt. Authenticity and self-belief are what truly matter to me,” she states firmly. This resolve is at the core of ‘Cats Can Surf’, a project that encapsulates her evolving experiences.

From grappling with mental health to navigating tumultuous relationships, each track explores significant emotional milestones. The title track examines unrequited love while ‘99 and counting’ navigates her mental health journey, showcasing her lyrical depth.

“These aren’t just vague explorations; they’re unfiltered accounts from the emotional frontline,” she expresses. “The EP has something for everyone.” The cinematic sound produced by Barns Noble enhances her storytelling, allowing her dramatic flair to shine.

Kayla’s creative blocks were pushed aside when she entered Barns’ countryside studio, where new songs began to flow. “We built a whole body of work that reignited my love for music!” she enthused.

As someone who values connection, she maintains a balance between her on-stage energy and quiet life of baking and yoga. “I enjoy creating in the kitchen or just relaxing with my cat on sunny days” she admits, savoring the simple pleasures that ground her.

In an era where cynicism prevails, Kayla’s commitment to honest songwriting is like a bright patch of sunshine. Her journey reflects the beauty of embracing life’s complexities, inviting listeners to join her in celebrating the messiness of growing up.

Kayla Grace’s EP ‘Cats Can Surf’ is now available, and it’s a heartfelt invitation to experience her world, one song at a time.
