Florence + The Machine to Perform ‘Lungs’ with an Orchestral Twist at BBC Proms

Florence + The Machine are ready to stir the music world with an exceptional orchestral performance of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Lungs.’ The iconic indie rock band will celebrate the album’s 15th anniversary in grand style at the illustrious BBC Proms.
- The highly anticipated event, titled Symphony of Lungs, will showcase the ethereal Florence Welch, frontwoman of the band, performing the album in full swing, with the masterful Jules Buckley and his orchestra elevating each note.
- The performance solidifies Welch’s imprint in the music industry and exhibits the album’s enduring influence on fans and artists alike.
- Fans will have the opportunity to experience this melodic symphony live as it airs on BBC Radio 3 and recordings on BBC Radio 1, BBC Two, and the BBC iPlayer later on.
- With tickets going live on the 18th of May, this is an invitation to immerse in a night of musical opulence.
“This album was such a patchwork of a period of time. Of my messy teenage years and early twenties. I had no idea what I was doing or where it would go and a lot of the songs are simply an exhalation of joy,” Welch expressed, reminiscing on ‘Lungs.’ “But that’s really where the sound of Florence + The Machine was born. So to have it still be so present in people’s hearts 15 years later, and to be invited to play through it orchestrally at the BBC Proms is such an honour,” she added.
