Laufey Returns with New Single ‘Silver Lining’ and Surreal Masquerade Video

Laufey has returned with an enthralling new single ‘Silver Lining’, marking her first original release since her GRAMMY-winning album ‘Bewitched’ and the much-lauded ‘Bewitched: The Goddess Edition’. This Icelandic-Chinese artist captivates listeners with her unique blend of jazz, pop, and classical influences that span over various genres.
The release of ‘Silver Lining’ is paired with a visually stunning video directed by the talented Jason Lester, who previously collaborated with Laufey on other projects like ‘From The Start’ and ‘Santa Baby’. Shot on dreamy 35mm film, the video elegantly unfolds at a mystical masquerade ball, which eventually spirals into a surreal hellscape, capturing the intricacies of love and intimacy.
In Laufey’s own words, “‘Silver Lining’ is a love song about being able to set your true personality free when you fall in love.” This reflects the essence of the song—celebrating the liberating feeling of love while embracing vulnerability. It resonates deeply, showing that even when love leads us through trials, the journey is worthwhile when shared with a partner.
